Horng Dar Lim

Associate Director, City and Practice Management

Prior to joining 100 Resilient Cities, Horng Dar spent 12 years as a Corporate Security and Business Continuity (CSBC) professional in Deutsche Bank. He held several lead roles in the areas of Physical Building Security, Protective Intelligence, Event & Executive Protection, and Travel Security and Security Investigation for the Asia Pacific office. Horng Dar also contributed to the global-risk-based approach to protect the Bank’s senior management and events. As the Bank’s regional coordinator for security and crisis management, he has developed an effective and efficient network of support of academic, security, business continuity, and crisis management and investigation experts in this region. Horng Dar has managed critical events and crisis situations in Pakistan, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Earlier in his career, Horng Dar worked with the Shimizu Corporation Singapore as a Special Projects Officer to the company's head administration, overseeing building projects reports and budgets. He was also with Marsh & McLennan Singapore as a Risk & Insurance Broker where he specialized in managing the risk and insurance management programs for several top 100 multi-national and local corporations operating in Singapore and South East Asia region.

Prior to his private sector career, Horng Dar received both police and military training. He holds several professional counter-terrorism and close protection certifications. He graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in the area of Risk and Insurance Management.
