The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), established by an initiative of the Japanese Government in 1998, is a research institute that conducts pragmatic and innovative strategic policy research to support sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region. IGES is currently offering services that help cities to quantify the benefits of mitigating climate change and air pollution in Asia. Its newly formed city task force is also hoping to facilitate partnerships between cities in Japan and cities in the 100 RC network.
