The following is a translated exerpt from “Medellín gana premio equivalente al “Nobel de urbanismo”, originally published in El Colombiano.
As predicted Medellin has just won the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize, according to an announcement made just a few hours ago on the island of Singapore.
This award is consider the “Urbanism Nobel,” and is given to cities that have achieved great advancements in this area.
Two years ago the prize went to the city of Suzhou (China), but Medellin received a special nomination to be considered for 2016. In 2012 New York won, and in 2010, Bilbao (Spain).
