Maria Ortiz brings to 100 Resilient Cities experience in public education, community outreach, and urban planning from her work in both Mexico and the US.

Prior to joining 100 Resilient Cities, Maria worked at the New York City Department of Sanitation at the Bureau of Recycling and Sustainability managing city-wide training and recycling programs for electronics, textiles and organic waste. She also worked at the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation in the Sustainability Initiatives Office which created a waste audit and recycling outreach program in Northern Manhattan Parks.
